Practices within the expressed limits of established policies and procedures, securing approval from the Head of Pharmacy for any deviations from the policies and procedures.- Ensures the provision of products with optimum quality by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance testing _(if required)._- Reviews prescription orders and ensures that the medications prescribed are safe and appropriate for the intended use. These include potential drug side effects, harmful interactions with other drugs and the suitability of treatments for patient with particular health conditions.- Uses his or her knowledge to advise patients about the safe and appropriate use of medicines they have been prescribed. Provides counselling on medications or medical devices use to the patient e.g. method of administration or use, effects, dosage regimen, particularly those who require complex drug therapy, as well as provides bedside dispensing and counselling.- Assists the pharmacist in preparing, labelling, checking and dispensing medications for the patients in accordance with physician's prescription.- Works closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of safe and effective drug treatment.- Contacts physicians to clarify any discrepancies or issues that appear in the prescription.- Responds to any medication-related queries within the hospital, other hospitals and the general public.- Ensures that medicinal products are stored and transported appropriately accordingly to the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure freshness and potency.- Ensures the medications reach the patient in the correct form and dose.- Strictly maintains the patients confidentiality.- Complies with and ensures that those directly supervised comply with department and hospital policies and procedures.- Participates in Pharmacy department meetings, Pharmacy and Therapeutic Clinical meetings, other departments or hospital committee meetings and quality improvement activities.- Monitors consumption of stocks in the pharmacy, wards and units and takes appropriate measures to ensure cost-efficient use of stocks and minimise wastage.- Assists in internal pharmacy stock indent and ward indent.- Compounding of extemporaneous medicines and lotion, as well as pre-packing of medicines.- Verification of EMR to ensure that medications prescribed are safe and appropriate for the intended use.- Participates in training as required by the management (internal and external pharmacy-related CPD programmes).- Undertakes other relevant tasks as may be directed by the Head of Pharmacy from time to time.**Job Requirements**:- Possess a Diploma in Pharmacy.- Possess 1-3 years of working experience.- Possess good communication skills and interpersonal skills in both English and Malay _(proficient in Chinese or Tamil is an added advantage)._- Able to work independently and accountable.- Possess basic computer skills**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent**Salary**: RM1,156.21 - RM2,489.91 per month**Benefits**:- Dental insurance- Free parking- Health insurance- Maternity leave- Professional developmentSchedule:- Rotational shiftSupplemental pay types:- Performance bonus**Education**:- Diploma/Advanced Diploma (required)
