Job Summary:
Planning Executives oversee production planning and project management activities within the organization, determining product requirements based on demand and plant capacity and production specifications to meet Customer Quality Specification and On-time delivery of NSW's products.
Responsibilities include establishing production schedules, generating, and releasing production work orders, monitoring of manufacturing activities and reporting of manufacturing status to interested stakeholders.
Planners aim to achieve optimum use of production resources while minimizing waste.
Planning executives are also involved in process improvement and lean manufacturing activities aiming to optimize inventory level and ensuring products can be delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:Communicate with sales to determine customer requirements and plan production tasks and schedules to meet customer demand.
Initiate contingency plans with related stakeholders on events of challenges or obstacles during project execution relating to schedules, quality, and other operation-related obstacles.
Plan inventory levels on a regular basis based on consumption records and forecasts to ensure materials are available to meet customer's delivery requirements while maintaining optimum inventory levels.
Evaluate departmental operation procedures and practices to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
Develop production schedules upon receiving customer orders by detailing all tasks based on customer's required dates.
As necessary, perform rescheduling and adjustments based on changes in customer demand, supplies, or other internal factors.
Acquire materials necessary to supply production with sufficient raw materials to produce products to meet customer demand.
Monitor project progress, reporting obstacles within the project environment relating to uncertainties in demand, supplies, and other internal challenges.
Communicate and drive internal operations to formulate resolutions to arising challenges.
Coordinate and communicate disposition plans for changes in planning due to changes in customer specifications, schedule changes, or cancellations.
Conduct regular communication to align, update, and synchronize manufacturing process status with all relevant departments.
Propose and execute improvement activities to enhance the department's operational performance.
Collaborate with all operational functional groups to ensure on-time delivery and meet customer expectations in specification and quality.
Communicate with relevant supporting departments to support performance improvement initiatives.
Monitor material acquisition status and communicate with relevant functional groups to ensure materials are available as planned for production operations.
Perform project closure activities to capture lessons learned and coordinate necessary actions to ensure smooth future project execution.
Prepare reports about production processes for upper management and suggest ways to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, processes, and quality.
Requirements:Degree in Operation Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or Engineering Field.
1 year in planning function in a manufacturing environment.
Experience using ERP solutions in a manufacturing environment.
Project management skills.
People management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Meeting management skills.
