ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To develop and manage the Planning Department for Jabil Circuit Sdn Bhd to operate with high level of efficiency, integrity, and enthusiasm, striving to achieve excellence (and avoid mediocrity) in all endeavors.
Ensure efficient operations through careful management of all sizing effort, enhance customers' satisfaction, and ensure 100% on-time delivery against commits.
Responsible for driving a systematic process to receive and evaluate customer demand, ensure a feasible operational plan is always in place, support the operation's business development effort with current and potential customers, and drive continuous improvement in key materials metrics.
Upon receipt of properly authorized customer demand, co-ordinate the sizing effort and develop plans which maximizes customers' satisfaction and utilization of resources.
Empower all Planning personnel and coach them to champion and take ownership of the following effort as related to their individual needs of the work-cell:Reconcile the Master Production Schedule to customer Purchase Order coverage or LOA in accordance to the MSA/SLA in a Business Unit.
Assess production schedules, revise when necessary, optimize run quantities, minimize changeovers, and achieve 100% on-time delivery.
Update and maintain the Master Production Schedule as changes are identified in order for the MRP to reflect accurate, up-to-date information.
Co-ordinate and resolve outstanding materials issues with the buyers to eliminate surprises material shortages.Recruit and maintain high caliber staff appropriate to business circumstances. Maintain a good cross-training program and a strong succession plan to accommodate changes in business needs.
Ensure employees are given proper training, tools, and resources to execute their responsibility. Develop, motivate, and challenge all team members to perform to their full potential, providing direct and timely feedback in formal and informal media.
Prepare periodic performance reviews of all reporting Planners & career path.
Review all relevant policies and procedures (as initiated and revised) with department members, coaching them regarding the specific instruction to them assignments. Ensure everyone's comprehension, as well as their ongoing support and compliance.
Manage and continuously monitor and review workcell goals and objectives. Always maintain a clear understanding of customer contracts and liability agreements.
Continuously improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the planning function to drive down the overall cost of material management.
Enforce the Corporate "Rules of the Road" commandments, cultural creed, and Corporate Operation's policies and procedures.
Support the development and implementation of Jabil standard planning strategies and systems.
Develop capabilities by accepting and resolving all additional special projects deemed necessary by the Leaders.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Possess in-depth knowledge of End-to-End planning.
- Possess thorough knowledge of and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management, both verbally and in writing.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality in personnel and business issues at all times.
- Independent & able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Professional Degree in any discipline with at least 10 years of experience in the Planning field. Added advantage in Purchasing and Inventory Control and of a similar manufacturing environment.
- Extremely strong skills with proven track record in communication, leadership, business analysis, process development, administration, and change management are required. Attention to detail and ability to work well with teams is also required.
