THE ROLE:
We are looking for a talented, self-driven and motivated Principal SI/PI Engineer with strong experience in simulation and verification to join the System-Signal integrity and Power Integrity team of Adaptive and Embedded Computing Group in San Jose. This team provides signal integrity and power integrity support for on-die, on-interposer, on-package and on PCB for AECG products.
THE PERSON:
As a principal SI/PI engineer, you will be responsible for leading PCB and RF system signal integrity and power integrity support. You will have an opportunity to work in a positive environment where individual development goals are aligned with organizational goals in developing products for some of the life-changing and futuristic applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for Signal Integrity and Power Integrity simulations at feasibility, pre-layout, post-layout phases of AECG characterization board and demo board design. Establish design and layout guidelines.
Responsible for coordinating with HW design team, layout team, NPI and manufacturing vendors to resolve SI/Stackup related issues.
Responsible for end-to-end channel simulations for multi-gigabit serial lines like 56Gbps, 112Gbps and beyond.
Responsible for Si and timing margin simulations of HBM/DDR4/LPDDR4/DDR5/LPDDR5 and other memory buses.
Responsible for characterizing the various interfaces in the product and verifying the simulations against measurements.
Responsible for preparation of and implementing checklists for various stages of PCB development.
Worked with architecture team, package design team and PCB design team for future PCB technology.
Update the SIPI design and analysis flow and automate the process.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
10 years working experience on signal integrity and power integrity at system level of high speed digital systems.
Solid understanding and experiences in computational electromagnetics and transmission line theory.
Excellent experience in SIPI simulation of PCIe Gen4/5, Multi Gigabit serial buses of 112Gbps and higher, DDR4/5, LPDDR4/5 etc.
Proficiency in SIPI simulation tools, such as HFSS, Q3D, ADS, HSPICE, PowerSI, PowerDC etc.
Working experience in PCB design tools such as Cadence Allegro.
Hands-on experience in electrical/design validation/compliance testing using high speed scopes, TDR, VNA, probe station and other instruments.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience in RF system design (DAC and ADC) is a plus.
Experience in scripting Matlab/Perl/Python is a plus.
People management experience is a plus.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
MS or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering specializing in areas related to SI/PI.
