JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is recruiting a PRINCIPAL Process Engineer, who has a vast experience in Oil & Gas business industry, especially in handling contaminants such as CO2, H2S, Mercury, etc in multiple projects to join our Kuala Lumpur Office team to support the Operations APAC (West) engineering activities.Wood's Operations business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimization, and technical services to the energy (oil and gas upstream and downstream business) & materials sectors within the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. All, united by our common purpose to unlock solutions to the world's most critical challenges.RESPONSIBILITIESIn this role, you will be reporting directly to the Head of Department (HOD) Process & Tech Safety in the KL Office and potentially will be closely collaborating with our Perth, Western Australia Office and other relevant Wood Offices for workshare and be working across Feasibility and Conceptual/ FEED / Detailed Design/ Execution phase. Your focus will be on:Lead the design, optimization and implementation of process engineering solutions for brownfield and greenfield projects, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards;Serve as a technical expert (SME – Subject Matter Experts) in process engineering, providing guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders;Coaching initiatives for junior engineers, focusing on technical skills, project management and professional development;Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the process engineering team;Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends in process engineering solutions.At Wood you will join an inclusive and diverse global community of inquisitive minds and recognized industry innovators, partnering to create new possibilities.QUALIFICATIONSSuitably qualified with relevant engineering degree (preferably in Bachelor of Chemical Engineering) from an accredited university, with extensive experience in process engineering design, with a proven track record in delivering brownfield and greenfield projects.To be considered for this opportunity, you must hold valid work rights to work lawfully in this Malaysian location.In addition, you will have:20+ years of relevant experience in the offshore / onshore Oil and Gas upstream / downstream industryRegistered with professional qualifications body (e.g. Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent) is preferred, but not mandatoryProficiency in process simulation and design softwareCompetent in Technical Process design / environmental requirements, procedures, process regulations and applicable industry codes / standards and responsibilitiesA commitment to nurturing the development of junior engineers and contributing to their career growthAbility to manage complex engineering projects and/or multi-disciplinary teams with various offices (work-share projects)Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsExcellent report writing and oral communication skillsIntellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a practical contextAble to demonstrate a level of team working skillsExperienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering workWhat will set you apart will be your relevant experience with Brownfields petroleum production/processing facilities.In return, this role will offer you an opportunity to thrive within a global organization working collaboratively as part of a diverse and inclusive community of inquisitive minds, unlocking tomorrow's solutions to the world's most critical challenges.
