- The Process Control Engineer with strong focus on evaluating, developing and performing process/unit control functions and strategies is accountable to achieve improved unit performance and manufacturing results. As such, the job responsibilities include hardware/software design modifications or revisions for the control systems down to field devices.
- Reports any unsafe conditions and potential environmental protection problem. To incorporate safety elements into process control strategies design.
- Develop and implement process control strategies and modification for process optimization, manage process control system upgrades and changes, both software and hardware.
- Provide process control expertise and support to improve plant operating results, act as a leader and advocate in the design and implementation of process control functions improvement.
- Troubleshoot and support day to day process control issues to ensure smooth plant operating environment, coordinate with Operations Section Manager to ensure implementation of control functions improvement changes and action plans.
- Troubleshoot and solve system interface related issues and problems.
- Involve in the area of Integrity Management , SOP, JHA, Engineering Assurance Procedures conformance, etc
- Potential role of Technical Authority for Process Control
- Site Technical Authority for LOPA
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering/Control Engineering
- At least 5 years experience applying regulatory and advanced control applications in the field of PTA or similar process industries.
- Thorough understanding of process control design, installation, operation, troubleshooting and repair.
- Thorough understanding of Honeywell TDC3000 distributed control system and high-level troubleshooting of same
- Experience in working with PLC and have a sound knowledge of various field instruments
- Ability to perform control strategy development/implementation, control system modification/upgrade.
