The expansion of theJohor Engineering officemeans we are now looking to recruit a newProcess Equipment Engineerin Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia reporting to KI Engineering Asia Manager.

As Process Equipment Engineer, you'd be in charge of acquiring and developing our own technology and equipment, dedicated to the manufacturing of pipe sections. The goal is to reduce the cost of ownership of the equipment and integrate key concepts like sustainability.
What you'll be doing:In the specific frame of the piping sections manufacturing process and equipment:
Understand the requests, specifications, and best practices, including safety, quality, cost, and time/schedule. This includes surveying running lines in the EU and USA to refine the understanding.
Define the adequate process equipment; create and refine the layout, sketch or draw critical functionalities and components; write a technical description of the equipment explaining the concept, the design where relevant, and the working parameters.
Define and drive the design of the equipment; detail design done by a defined external partner contracted for this work.
Search for suppliers (Malaysia and ASEAN) and explain the scope of work. Lead the tendering phase, analyze the quotations, and deliver a bid comparison. Make recommendations and assist the purchasing department in finalizing the orders.
Follow the selected suppliers: detail review, machine/equipment manufacturing follow-up and expediting; in particular, sticking to pre-defined schedule and specifications. Release "minutes of meeting" reports with actions.
Review and share information about equipment with other stakeholders: utilities supply, network integration, interfaces.
Organize machine acceptance (Factory acceptance test, commissioning to operations, final acceptance) with relevant report/documentation.
Organize equipment installation; start-up assistance when required. Possible travel abroad, short duration (3 weeks in a row maximum).
Lead continuous improvement on design and equipment, to enhance best practices and incorporate improvements as new standards on next occurrences.

We're looking for someone who has:
Engineering degree (B Sc) and at least 5 years of experience in engineering and project environment.
Experience with industrial suppliers in Asia.
Understanding of control systems.
Fluent capacity in English (vehicular language inside the international environment of KI Engineering).
Any other language is a plus, such as Malay and Mandarin.
Knowledge of IT tools: MS Office, Autodesk products 2D and 3D. Ability and willingness to understand the mineral wool manufacturing process: a prerequisite for pragmatic and efficient concept and design. Confront the design work with plant reality.
Technical and mechanical knowledge associated with the design work.
