Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer in the Vacuum Product Division, you will improve products, processes and components to meet cost objectives, component technology obsolescence and customer requirements. Participates actively in new product introduction, including influencing the design of the product to ensure manufacturability and conformance with the global supply chain, enabling prototyping while in the R&D lab, testing the reliability of prototypes and managing the transition into production.
Supports and implements the transition of products and manufacturing processes from prototype to full production and through the entire life cycle of the product. Partners with procurement and technical services to improve/sustain products and processes. May direct the work of third-party vendors and/or partners to meet contract specified deliverables, performance or business objectives. May work with suppliers to ensure achievement of goals for cost, quality and delivery of parts and materials. May identify and manage ERP data such as bill of material and routing.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering support in manufacturing high quality and regulatory-compliant products; establishing effective work instructions and controls of critical process & test parameters, maintaining bill of materials and setting up routing hours.
Establish monitoring mechanism to key process parameters and respond proactively to process & material deviation in maintaining product quality and ensuring assurance of supply.
Collaborate with other internal functions as well as external supplier and service providers in running continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, cost and efficiency.
Participate in NPI, Product Transfer for Product Insourcing activities to ensure successful landing of new products to the organization.
Design and development of tools, fixtures and automation initiatives as required.
Taking a product ownership to lead activities that improves key performance index such as quality, delivery and costs.
Lead and maintain product line to be compliance both ISO9K and regulatory compliance related to EN61010 and others.
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master's Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics or equivalent.
More than 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering environment with advance in product engineering support and documentation (WI, FMEA, Control Plan, etc).
Familiar with quality tools and statistical methods (SPC, DOE, Statistical Inference, etc) in analysis and technical problem solving.
Able to interpret mechanical drawings and critical specifications.
Basic knowledge in common manufacturing processes -- metal fabrication, plastic injection moulding, casting, fastening assemblies, etc.
Experience in product transfer will be an added advantage.
Advance understanding on mechanical drawings and standards.
Experience in product engineering support and documentation (WI, FMEA, Control Plan, etc.) -- experience in ISO 9001 will be an added advantage.
Disciplined, good initiative & high level of accountability; takes product ownership seriously and strives to complete tasks within the critical timeframe given.
Good interpersonal skills (in verbal and writing) for engagement with cross functional teams.
Able to work and meet broad scope of manufacturing objectives in terms of safety, delivery, quality and costs.
