Job Description As Process Technician, you will be responsible for the operation of the assigned process, utilities and associated facilities in accordance with the Refinery operating procedures and best practices.
Your core duties will include but not limited to starting and stopping of equipment, maintaining and adjusting instrumentation, conducting shift tours for purpose of monitoring equipment operations.
You will also operate the local start-stop and controls during start-up, shutdown and emergency operations and report operating conditions to the Refinery and Utilities Panelman, as well as any other duties and tasks as assigned. Responsibilities include: Responsible for the local operation of the assigned process or utility units in accordance with the Refinery operating procedures and best practices. Carries out the local Process and Utilities Systems operations including starting and stopping of equipment, maintaining and adjusting instrumentation, conducting shift tours for purpose of monitoring equipment operations. Operates the local start-stop and controls during start-up, shutdown and emergency operations and reports operating conditions to the Refinery and Utilities Panelman. Reports to the Senior Process Technician and Shift Supervisor. Qualifications Diploma in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Process Technology or Trade Certificate. 3 to 5 years of experience in refinery process and utility operations, or at similar facilities Possesses AESP from DOSH accredited training body – NIOSH Preferably certified as Authorised Gas Tester and registered with DOSH Preferably with Boilerman Grade 1 or 2 or Steam Engineer Grade 2 Steam Boiler competency Good knowledge in PTW and LOTO Knowledge and experience as a member of ERT during emergencies Knowledge in general Process Safety control requirements is highly preferred Fit to work in refinery and confined space environment (pre-employment health screening needs to be completed) Personal characteristics Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Able to communicate well (verbally and written) in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.
