Create and develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings of switchboard metal parts, components, and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. Ensure designs meet functional requirements, safety standards, and aesthetic considerations, with a strong focus on sheet metal fabrication.
Begin 3D design upon receipt of proceed work for switchboard projects, translating project specifications into accurate and manufacturable designs, considering sheet metal properties and fabrication constraints.
Work closely with the fabrication team to ensure designs are feasible, address any production concerns, and ensure on-time delivery of switchboard assemblies.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) for each switchboard project, detailing component specifications and quantities required for production.
Identify, document, and address design flaws or issues, recommending and implementing corrective actions to enhance design quality and performance, particularly in relation to sheet metal components.
Create prototypes and mock-ups of switchboard components to test and validate design concepts, working with the fabrication team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to sheet metal.
Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and technical requirements specific to switchboard manufacturing and sheet metal fabrication.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize switchboard design, improve manufacturing efficiency, and reduce material waste, with a focus on sheet metal processes.
Maintain organized documentation of design files, revisions, test results, and project progress. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate design concepts and status to stakeholders.
Stay updated on advancements in design software, switchboard technologies, and sheet metal manufacturing techniques to ensure designs are innovative and production-efficient.
Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by management to support switchboard manufacturing and project goals.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3-5 years of experience in product design, with a focus on switchboard or sheet metal component manufacturing preferred.
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks for 3D design.
Strong understanding of sheet metal design requirements, including fabrication processes and material properties.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications, with strong attention to detail in design and documentation.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address and resolve design-related issues effectively.
Strong communication and coordination skills for liaising with fabrication teams and stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while ensuring high-quality design output.#J-18808-Ljbffr
