The Production Control Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production control team, ensuring efficient production scheduling, inventory control, and workflow coordination. This role plays a key part in optimizing production efficiency, meeting deadlines, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling & Planning:
Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure timely completion of work orders.
Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure materials and resources are available as required.
Adjust schedules based on changes in priority, resource availability, or unexpected disruptions.
Inventory & Material Control:
Monitor and maintain inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Coordinate with purchasing to manage inventory shortages and expedite orders when necessary.
Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to reduce waste and prevent shortages.
Workflow Management:
Ensure that production work orders and instructions are issued accurately and timely.
Collaborate with production supervisors to resolve bottlenecks and optimize workflow.
Maintain records and track performance metrics such as cycle time, lead time, and downtime.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement within production planning and control processes.
Lead or support initiatives for process optimization and waste reduction.
Implement Lean or Six Sigma methodologies where applicable to improve efficiency.
Supervise and mentor production control team members, providing guidance and support.
Ensure that all team members are trained on best practices and company procedures.
Conduct regular team meetings to communicate priorities, discuss issues, and align team efforts with production goals.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and maintain reports on production schedules, inventory status, and performance metrics.
Ensure that accurate records are kept for audits and quality control.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely communication.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication and team coordination abilities.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
