Execute projects assigned by project manager (PM)/assistant project manager (APM) within stipulated budget and delivery time frame to the satisfaction of customer. Combination of technical expertise and project management savvy. Managing complex industrial and engineering endeavors from start to finish. Project engineers are in aspects of a venture, including planning, budgeting,personnel, and more. Spend a good amount of time at project sites, ensuring work is being completed safely and efficiently. Also expert coordinators, bringing together stakeholders of every level for effective and profitable project deliveries.
Responsibilities (Major activities or end results for which this position is held accountable)
· Execute projects assigned by PM/APM within stipulated budget and contractual completion date.
· Establish clear outline of scope of supply with sales, review and request for budget adjustment if original budget not reasonable for execution.
· Determine required components and set the requirement date, then reserve/order them through SAP (a resources planning software) for purchasing department to order all the relevant components according to the requirement date.
· Handover relevant documents and information to other departments in time for them to execute their task for the project, also getting committed dates from relevant departments for those tasks of their responsibility.
· Be the contact point for customer once project starts and attend to all technical clarification, technical issues or problems, document submission, delivery, installation, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), and handover. Except for commercial issues.
· Visit site to find out any undocumented limitation to the product design, delivery and installation.
· Attend to site meeting.
· Highlight to PM/APM and Sales on any additional or deviation of scope due to unexpected changes during execution or request by customer, before committing to customer.
· Inform sales and finance controller to trigger relevant billing according to contractual billing plan at predetermined stages throughout the project.
· Assist technical administration executive in gathering & reviewing relevant documents for submission to DOSH for design approval and load test.
· Mediate between customer's site personnel and our installation team so that installation, T&C is carried out according to site safety requirements.
· Report any significant cost deviation from planned budget.
· Mentor or teach new project engineers as assigned by PM/APM.
· Perform any other related duties as assigned by PM/APM.
Required qualifications Possess a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent 1 to 2 years experience in project handling / management. Experience/Knowledge of site safety requirement, and installation process. #J-18808-Ljbffr
