Conduct engineering site surveys to plan equipment and interconnection locations at the site, as well as connections to the existing electrical system.
Develop and prepare designs for residential solar PV systems, including but not limited to the electrical, structural, and mechanical aspects of the projects.
Work with the Design Department to confirm the engineering design and decide on the DC equipment and AC interconnection locations at the site, as well as connections to the existing electrical system.
Liaise with and manage subcontractors regarding their scope of work, schedules, and monitoring the quality of workmanship during installation.
Record, implement, and manage design change requirements.
Work with internal and/or external parties such as TNB, consulting firms, and local authorities on licensing applications and documentation.
Liaise and coordinate with TNB HQ and local authorities on meter installation and grid interconnection of the solar PV system.
Set up a remote monitoring system and perform testing and commissioning of the solar PV system.
Review deliverables at project milestones to ensure the project is on schedule and within budget.
Provide weekly reports and new project schedules to the Head of Department, and proactively update on critical issues such as material shortages, project delivery delays, subcontractor competency, law changes, etc.
Implement best practices and safe work procedures throughout the project on-site.
Prepare internal handovers to the O&M department, and communicate with O&M resources during O&M and DLP to ensure compliance with the committed Scope of Work and Service Level Agreement.
Support O&M in attending to any electrical breakdowns related to solar PV systems during the DLP, initiate fault diagnosis and corrective actions for assigned solar PV projects, and implement new designs or procedures for project installation to avoid recurring faults due to project handling or inappropriate design.
Provide technical reports for any retention claims from subcontractors due to mishandling, manufacturing claims for product failure, and insurance claims for external factors covered by EAR/WC.
Monitor system performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical performance reports before internal handover to the O&M department.
Requirements Possess a Bachelor's Degree/Postgraduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Preferably have at least 1 year of working experience in electrical installations or the construction industry.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Proficient in Solar PV system design, AutoCAD, and PVSyst (experience in these will be an added advantage).
Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and ERP systems.
Customer-oriented, independent, with problem-solving, reporting, and good interpersonal skills.
Able to work and adhere to tight deadlines.
Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working on weekends and public holidays if required.
Possess a valid Class D driving license and be able to travel.
