Job SummaryAs a Project Manager (L2), Physical Site Setup (PSS) your primary responsibilities will be delivering the new site IT Infrastructure services setup (server room, networking and cabling, internet service, etc) within the organization. You will be working as a team and responsible to ensure that IT infrastructure setup at new site comply to the group IT Infrastructure requirements and standards, deliver the IT infrastructure services on-time and within budget for the business.
Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral
• Plan, establish, and manage information technology (IT) projects and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects.
• Track project performance periodically to ensure both short-term and long-term goals are met.
• Ensuring compliance with objectives, organizational policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ensuring project complies with best practices and SOPs.
• Break goals down into bite-sized pieces.
• Product and services evaluation.
• To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment standard in support to the company ESIG objective.
• Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.
Stakeholder Management
• Liaising with stakeholders such as project personnel, vendors, and end-users regarding project requirements.
• Team management.
Scope
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables.
• Implementing changes where necessary.
Cost
• Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
Time
• Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
• Prepare and update project milestone chart.
Communication
• Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected stakeholders.
• Collects, analyses, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.
• Compiling project reports and informing management regarding problems.
Resource Planning
• Identify project resources skillset.
• Hire the project team, internally or externally.
Risk Management
• Undertake risk management to minimize potential risks.
Documentation
• Implementing document control policies.
• Create and maintain detailed project documentation.
QualificationsDegree or diploma in IT, computer science, facility management, engineering, building management or related discipline.
Proven project and process management skillset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong aptitude to work within deadlines.
Ability to work within a team or independently as needed.
Comfortable in dealing with telco vendors, construction staff, network cabling vendor, health and safety officer etc.
Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested.
Periodic travel may be required.
Understanding of:Server Room standard and setup.
Structure Cabling System for UTP and Fiber.
Racking System.Added advantage
PMP or Prince2 certified.
CIDB certificate holder.
Both IT and business architecture design skillset.
Contract Management where necessary.
Relevant training and/or certification as a Project Manager.
Skills & Abilities• Highly organizational skills and ability to multitask and oversee several projects simultaneously.
• Willing to work on construction/renovation site for new office setup.
• Understanding of the architecture of an office and LAN topology.
• Ability to draw up a detailed project plan, project schedule, and communication plan.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and/or similar planning tools.
• Ability to utilize project management tools such as risk register, and issue log.
• Ability to make complex decisions.
• Ability to translate complex technical issues and solutions to business language.
• Ability to work well under pressure and demanding conditions/complexities.
• Ability to develop well-structured presentations with informative and well-presented information appropriate for the desired audience.
• Experience in using Microsoft Project or proficient in other project management software.
