The Planner plays a critical role in project management, assisting in the planning, organizing, and monitoring of projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. The primary responsibility of a Planner is to create and maintain project schedules, which serve as a roadmap for the project team, stakeholders, and management to follow throughout the project's lifecycle.
The duties include: Study construction drawings and specifications to ensure suitability and sufficient detail for supervision.Prepare master schedule with key milestones.Prepare site baseline work programme and Gantt chart.Prepare weekly, monthly and analysis and report preparation.Prepare slides for weekly and monthly meetings.Monitor and update progress on site.Prepare delay analysis for EOT claim notification.Resource planning – to indicate the levels of resources based on productivity rates of subcontractors.Procurement planning – listing of vendors and subcontractors.Prepare mitigation plan if work is delayed.Prepare visual reporting with S-curve.Prepare Critical Path Analysis and Baseline Analysis.Prepare 3 week look ahead (last planner) and 12 weeks look ahead works.Prepare detailed tracking for each trade and zone.Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to coordinate activities and address any issues that arise. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years' experience in the effective planning and management of construction projects.Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Project and MS Office applications.Knowledge of Primavera P6 an added advantage.Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Knowledge of relevant legislation relating to construction, safety, building regulations will be an advantage.Ability to liaise seamlessly with all levels of management and consultants.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
