Location Full job description Developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures in accordance with university guidelines and regulations. Collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and requirements. Researching and identifying potential suppliers and vendors to ensure the best prices and quality for goods and services. Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, terms, and conditions. Monitoring and tracking purchasing activities to ensure compliance with budget constraints and financial regulations. Evaluating supplier performance and managing vendor relationships to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods and services. Resolving any issues or disputes that may arise during the procurement process. Keeping abreast of industry trends and changes in market conditions to inform purchasing decisions. Implementing cost-saving strategies and optimizing purchasing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Providing guidance and support to staff and departments on purchasing-related matters. Experience or Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, finance, or a related field. At least 5-7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a higher education setting. Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and vendor negotiations. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing procurement at universities, such as public procurement laws. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and external vendors. Proficiency in using procurement software and tools to streamline purchasing processes and track expenses. Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions to optimize procurement operations and reduce costs. Leadership experience, including the ability to manage a team of procurement professionals and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures. Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
