Purchasing & Vendor Development Assistant Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITY Purchasing Operations Management:   - Oversee daily purchasing activities to ensure optimal quality, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.
   - Collaborate with a team of executives to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
   - Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing.
2. Supplier Audits:
   - Plan and execute supplier audits to assess compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations.
   - Develop corrective action plans based on audit findings and monitor implementation.
3. Spend Analysis:
   - Conduct thorough spend analysis to identify trends, opportunities for savings, and areas for improvement in procurement processes.
   - Utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic sourcing decisions and enhance cost reduction efforts.
4. Cost Reduction Initiatives:
   - Identify opportunities for cost reduction through strategic sourcing and develop strategies to achieve yearly savings targets.
   - Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate better pricing and terms while maintaining quality standards.
5. Price Fluctuation Management:
    - Analyze market trends to anticipate price fluctuations and implement strategies to mitigate impacts.
    - Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms amidst market volatility.
6. Technical Expertise in Manufacturing Costing:
    - Apply technical knowledge, especially in manufacturing costing, to make informed purchasing decisions.
    - Provide guidance to the team on technical specifications and requirements.
7. Supplier Relationship Management:
   - Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration and trust.
   - Manage supplier performance and implement improvement initiatives as needed.
8. Risk Management:
   - Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
   - Monitor geopolitical and market changes that could impact supplier relationships and procurement strategies.
9. System and Customer Audits:
   - Ensure compliance with internal purchasing systems and procedures.
   - Coordinate with internal coordinator during customer audits to provide necessary documentation and support.
10. Sustainability and Ethical Sourcing:
   - Develop strategies with supplier to source alternative materials and services sustainably, reducing the organization's carbon footprint.
11. Digital Transformation and Technology Adoption:
   - Stay updated on digital trends that impact procurement processes and implement relevant tools for improved operations.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Technical Skills: A recognized Business/Supply Chain/Engineering Degree (minimum). Preferable with a MBA or Masters Degree in Supply ChainProven minimum 5 years' experience in procurement or supply chain managementMinimum 2 years' experience in junior managerial levelGeneral understand and broad knowledge of purchasing system in manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of government policies and procedures related to procurementExcellent in negotiations and vendor management skillsIntermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.Strong reporting skills for creating impactful presentations.Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHave strong communication, interpersonal and persuasive skills for effective interactions, influence and pitching to both lower & top management level.Strong Leadership skills – particularly in managing crisis, motivating & fostering the growth of subordinate.Able to demonstrate the ability to intervene effectively when faced with challenges, cultivating a sense of team spirits among subordinate Delegate tasks effectively and conduct regular follow-ups to team members and ensure accountability for project deliverables.Excel in leading & driving meetings to achieve meeting objectives efficiently.Excel in collaborating within cross-functional teams and exhibit a strong sense of responsibility towards achieving teams objective.Detailed-oriented and highly organizedExcellent presentation and pitching skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and persuasively. ADDED ADVANTAGE - Education Background in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing, with a solid understanding of industry-specific procurement challenges.
- Familiarity with IATF17949 Automotive standards.
- Having auditor skills to assess and improve procurement processes internally and at suppliers
- Having knowledge of shipping logistics and established relationships with Customs authorities.
