Key Responsibilities: Quality Control and Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks during the manufacturing process of buses, ensuring that all components and assemblies meet the required specifications.
Review incoming raw materials and parts from suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards before use in production.
Perform in-process inspections on various stages of bus assembly, including chassis, electrical systems, body work, and final assembly.
Ensure all quality inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained regularly.
Quality Assurance Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures, ensuring they are followed throughout the production process.
Ensure that the bus manufacturing processes meet safety, regulatory, and industry-specific standards.
Identify potential risks and quality issues, proposing solutions and improvements to prevent recurrence.
Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action: Investigate quality issues, non-conformities, and customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis.
Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality issues.
Supplier Quality Management: Ensure the quality of purchased materials and parts meet company standards.
Perform supplier audits and assessments.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality inspections, tests, and audits.
Prepare and present regular quality performance reports to senior management, highlighting trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
Ensure all quality-related documentation is in compliance with industry regulations and is readily accessible for audits or inspections.
Product Testing: Oversee and conduct testing on finished products (buses), including mechanical, electrical, and safety system checks to ensure they meet industry standards.
Coordinate vehicle performance tests, including road testing, and report on the results.
Ensure buses meet the required certification standards, such as emission, safety, and durability testing.
Collaboration with Production Teams: Work closely with production teams to provide guidance on quality standards and ensure they are adhered to throughout the manufacturing process.
Conduct quality awareness training for production staff and encourage adherence to best practices in quality control.
Provide technical support to production teams on resolving quality-related issues.
Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives aimed at improving quality standards, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in the manufacturing process.
Use tools like Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, and root cause analysis to drive improvements in the production process.
Monitor quality metrics and collaborate with management to set goals for quality performance.
Qualifications: Diploma / Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in quality assurance or quality control in the automotive or bus manufacturing industry.
Experience in a production environment with a focus on automotive systems, components, or vehicle assembly.
In-depth knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, standards, and testing procedures.
Familiarity with QMS and automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
Strong understanding of automotive and bus manufacturing processes, including assembly, welding, electrical systems, and painting.
Ability to use 7 QC Tools and software tools for inspections and reporting.
