A Quality Control (QC) Engineer in Metal Fabrication is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards and specifications before they are delivered to customers.
This role involves the implementation and maintenance of quality control processes, inspection of materials and finished products, and collaboration with other departments to address quality issues.
Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards for metal fabrication processes.
Ensure that the fabrication processes meet industry standards and customer requirements.
Monitor and analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement.
Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
Use various tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), to measure product dimensions and tolerances.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality issues.
Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting any deviations and proposed corrective actions.
Ensure all documentation complies with industry regulations and company policies.
Investigate quality issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Work closely with production teams to resolve quality-related problems and prevent future occurrences.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, such as ISO 9001, and company quality policies.
Participate in internal and external audits, addressing any non-conformances identified.
Provide training to production staff on quality standards and inspection techniques.
Support the development of a quality-focused culture within the organization.
Work closely with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and met.
Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues related to raw materials.
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in quality control within a metal fabrication environment.
Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment.
Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
