Quantity Surveyor

Quantity surveyors have under their helmcomplete management of the cost involved in building andconstruction projects from the inception of the project until thedelivery. They strive for an efficient use of the resources whilstkeeping an eye on quality, quality standards, and client'srequirements which specifically meant as follows:-
a) Examine tender documents like drawing, specifications,conditions of contracts and clarify with consultants or client'srepresentative.
b) Liaise with respectivedepartments for clarification and further information required fortender submission.
c) Liaise withsub-contractors and suppliers to obtain information andquotation.
d) Prepare quotation and tendersubmission.
e) Handle drawing registration andcontrol.
f) Monitoring the main contract andproject account through effective contractual management to ensureletter of award reflects the agreed terms and conditions andfulfill the contract's requirement such as CIDB and purchase ofinsurance.
g) Liaise closely withperson-in-charge on the circumstances which may give rise to EOT,VO and/or changed working conditions from those expected ortendered in the contract.
h) Preparing monthlyprogress claim and invoice to client.
i) Liaisonwith consultants and client to ensure the certificates and paymentreceived on time.
j) Produce cash flowprojection for monthly forecast including internal cost forecastbased on claim and certificate to account department.
k) Negotiate with sub-contractors and suppliers onsubcontracting works as well as material procurement.
l) Prepare of sub-contract agreement tosub-contractors.
m) Prepare monthlycertification of work done to sub-contractors up to the finalaccount of the sub-contract works.
