Job Description We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the interior design sector, particularly in fit-out projects and residential design.
You will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring value for money, and assisting with the financial aspects of design projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for fit-out and residential design projects.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform project planning.
Monitor project progress, managing costs, and ensuring projects are completed within budget.
Liaise with clients, architects, and contractors to provide cost-related advice and support.
Review and analyze tender documents and contracts, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices and terms.
Prepare and submit interim and final accounts, ensuring all financial records are maintained.
Collaborate with project managers and design teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Conduct site visits to assess progress and address any financial discrepancies.
Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and regulations affecting the construction and interior design sectors.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the interior design or fit-out sector.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Proficient in cost estimation software and MS OJice Suite.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills: Knowledge of local market trends and supplier networks in Malaysia.
Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations.
Experience in residential projects and an understanding of client needs in this sector.
Ability to converse in Mandarin and connections with vendors based in China is a plus point.
