Food Technology & Safety (Science & Technology)
The jobholder is to be involved product development and product improvement projects and monitor the progress of each project to ensure department goals and project timelines are met. B. Key Responsibilities: Laboratory Management Operations: Execute R&D activities such as sample requisition, pilot plant activities, 5'S, safety, inventory, waste and expenses. Policy and Safety: Establish and implement laboratory procedures and safety protocols for an organized and systematic work style. Assist in instrument / equipment maintenance, calibration and servicing of instruments in R&D lab 2. Product Innovation and Development Design and plan research and analytical tasks for new product development and product improvement projects. Scheduling: Monitor the progress of each project to ensure project timelines are met. Raw materials evaluation and approval: Evaluate and conduct necessary testing and / or application tests to determine its suitability for use. 3. Process Improvement: Work closely with QA/QC and production teams to enhance manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste and optimize resource utilization. 4. Quality Management and Regulatory Compliance: Quality and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure new products are developed to meet safety, quality, legal requirements and customer requirements. Control Procedures: Implement appropriate quality control procedures and activities. Ensure operations comply with regulations and industry standards. 5. Documentation and Reporting: Data Records: Maintain accurate laboratory testing records. Performance Reports: Generate reports on metrics, analyze process performance and seek improvements. 6. Customer Service and Technical Support: Provide technical support to internal teams including production, sales and marketing. 7. Food Safety and Environmental: Safeguarding Occupational Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards of the workforce. 8. Ad-hoc Assignment: To perform other duties as assigned by Management from time to time. C. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Science or equivalent. Technical knowledge in oils & fats and related products. Self-motivated, initiative and capable of communicating effectively. Regulatory compliance understanding. Problem solving and analytical abilities. Innovative thinking and creative. Ability to analyze data and analytical work. Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and MS Words. Preferably at least 1 year of working experience in an environment where knowledge of Chemistry and Food Processing applied.
