Job Description Lead and manage the primary design of medium voltage products for the AIS & GIS sections, ensuring industry standards are met and improving the quality and range of the company's product offerings.
Drive market penetration for AIS & GIS products by offering comprehensive technical support and ensuring compliance with customer specifications and technical requirements.
Oversee and align primary design schedules with project timelines, ensuring that all design releases are fully in sync with the Middle Schedule.
Manage new product design reviews, focusing on cost efficiency, compliance with specifications, manufacturability, and providing solutions to design challenges.
Control and monitor the development budget and progress, ensuring product development timelines and cost competitiveness are met.
Ensure that product development specifications are aligned with the latest market trends and technologies.
Work closely with the type test design team to provide effective solutions and quick responses to optimize type test strategies.
Oversee the industrialization of AIS & GIS products, developing an efficient engineering transition between design and manufacturing to improve process efficiency.
Prioritize new product development activities as directed by top management, integrating them into the R&D execution plan.
Present product development efforts to qualify for double tax exemptions.
Manage R&D capitalization requirements, ensuring proper records (such as development timesheets and investment transactions) are maintained according to income tax department guidelines.
Oversee the management of the R&D lab, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and calibration.
Execute general managerial responsibilities to ensure compliance with company policies.
Develop team capabilities through training, ensuring staff possess the necessary skills and knowledge to meet targets.
Ensure effective use of company assets, foster good internal and external relationships, and set an example as a role model.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
At least 7-8 years of experience in switchgear design and development or in mechanical/electromechanical design and development roles.
Extensive experience in the complete switchgear development cycle (AIS/GIS), with a deep understanding of key operational components such as switching elements, draw-out mechanisms, circuit breakers, enclosure structures, and grade levels related to IP ratings and IAF standards.
Strong knowledge of international standards related to switchgear design and development, with the ability to provide clear interpretation to guide design concepts and direction.
Proficiency in AUTOCAD, NX, Inventor, and the Microsoft Office suite.
Expertise in drawing standards and practical geometry tolerance.
Advanced knowledge in switchgear design methodology, including calculation, analysis, and design for manufacturability, switchgear standards, and engineering principles related to routine and type testing.
Strong project management skills, with proven experience in leading technical teams.
Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
Deep understanding of local and international market requirements.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
