ABOUT SDSN The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been operating since 2012 under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General.
SDSN mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement.
We aim to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges confronting the world. SDSN works closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, and civil society.
It is directed by Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs and operates through offices in New York, Paris, and Kuala Lumpur.
POSITION SUMMARY The SDSN Asia Headquarters, hosted by Sunway University, is seeking a thoughtful and talented problem solver to join our dynamic team in the Kuala Lumpur office.
The successful candidate will work with the Senior Fellow and researchers of SDSN to conduct research and analysis for contemporary economic issues.
You will support the team in research, interpreting data and articulating your findings in a clear and insightful manner. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Support specific research projects on the Middle-Income Trap from a Comparative Perspective and the Economics of Green Transformation, and on Green Finance.
Perform data collection and analysis on a wide variety of SDG related subjects; derive insights from data and apply analytical techniques to further enhance existing data.
Contribute to the development of research reports, policy briefs, working papers, and other publications that communicate research findings to diverse audiences.
Liaise and engage with stakeholders to advance SDSNA's projects and initiatives.
Plan, organize and execute programs and initiatives and prepare reports for such programs and initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's or master's degree in economics or any related field.
Demonstrated expertise in economic research and quantitative analysis. Strong interest in contemporary economic issues. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented multi-cultural environment.
Independent, proactive, self-motivated, and able to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and familiarity with statistical software.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
