Our esteemed client seeks an experienced professional to lead and manage applied research projects and initiatives, driving innovation and developing new products for the Southeast Asian region.
Job Summary:
This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, specifically the sales and application technology teams, to identify new application opportunities, oversee new product introductions, and ensure research outcomes enhance R&D activities, products, and services, contributing to profitable growth. Additionally, the Quality Control & Analytics team will report directly to this role.
Job Responsibilities:Applied Research
Execute applied research projects effectively to meet customer requirements.
Allocate resources based on project needs, including equipment operation analysis and customer feedback.
Oversee research interests, including but not limited to:Investigating residues on circuit boards, components, or copper substrates, with result interpretation and solution development.
Evaluating surface cleanliness and interface requirements for filling materials.
Developing economic and environmentally friendly methods for treating chemical wastewater.
Conducting in-depth studies on cleaning methods such as spray, ultrasonic, and jet cleaning.Prepare reports for each project stage and disseminate research achievements through journals.
Coordinate with overseas teams to complete research projects and provide leadership per project plans.
Recommend solutions for customer complaints or issues in the Application Technology department.
Generate new R&D ideas based on research findings and establish a feedback loop between market demand and R&D.
Contribute to annual planning of applied research topics and prepare the department's annual budget.
Collaborate with Sales, Application Technology, and Marketing teams to integrate research findings into product/service development.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the research team.
QC & Analytics
Lead the QC & Analytics team to ensure effective execution of tasks, including:Qualifying and approving materials and suppliers.
Sampling and quality control of incoming raw materials, mixed products, and packaging materials.
Establishing QC procedures aligned with EU and US standards.
Reviewing and monitoring raw material purchases.
Conducting routine testing and analysis of finished products, raw materials, and stability samples per ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and in-house methods.Managing maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of lab equipment.
Reviewing and updating laboratory documents such as SOPs and validating new analytical methods.
Ensuring compliance with safety requirements (OSHA) and maintaining measurement accuracy.
Implementing certification in accordance with ISO 1702.
Job Requirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Applied Science, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
Minimum of 10 years' proven experience in applied research, preferably with a wet chemistry background.
Experience in the semiconductor or electronics manufacturing industry is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to manage teams and multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in research methodologies, statistical analysis, and complex technical communication.
Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into practical applications or solutions.
Commercial acumen to propose economically viable solutions to customers.
