Job Description
Highly skilled Reservoir Engineering Specialist with expertise in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in evaluating, modelling, designing, and optimizing subsurface storage reservoirs for carbon dioxide (CO) sequestration. This role demands technical proficiency, strategic thinking, and a commitment to environmental sustainability with hands on CO2 storage studies and CCS project experiences.
Responsible for ensuring the following functions/capabilities are provided:
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with geoscientist to evaluate and characterise CO2 storage in depleted fields.
Review of geomechanical study and mode and possible coupling requirement with dynamic simulation model
Assess CO2 interaction with reservoir rock and fluids. Evaluate for possible additional core / lab experiments requirement
Collaborate with Wells team to assess well completions requirement and risks.
Develop and update compositional reservoir simulation model suitable for CO2 storage purposes.
Perform dynamic model sensitivities to assess risks of CO2 injection
Generate and optimise Storage Development Plan
Generate MMV framework and detail plan
Overall containment risk assessment
Qualifications
Bachelors or masters degree in petroleum engineering or a related discipline. PhD is a plus. Certification in CCS-specific programs is a plus.
Minimum 15 years of working experiences with last 3 years in CCS or CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)
Proven expertise in reservoir simulation software (Eclipse or TNavigator)
Strong understanding of CO2 properties and reservoir thermodynamics. Knowledge of geomechanics and geochemical interaction in CO2 storage
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communications and collaboration abilities
