Resident Engineer (Civil & Structure)

Details of the offer

Monitor construction operations and project execution and ensure all works are in accordance with contracts and standard requirements.
Able to manage and lead a Project Site Office and team.
Attend all site/project meetings.
Facilitate, coordinate and liaise with different parties, including contractor, engineers, consultants and client, to ensure timely resolution to construction issues and design matters.
Convey directives from design office and provide technical guidance to the site project team.
Examine the contract documents, authorities and municipal councils' requirements and contractor work program and identify discrepancies in construction drawings.
Quality control of all contractors' performance with respect to specified and approved materials, workmanship and construction details.
Ensuring that tests and inspections are performed.
Monitor site progress, maintain as-built records and prepare site progress reports to ensure contractor fulfilled their obligation in the Contract.
Liaising with construction management to remove any hazards associated with work activities.
Report and make recommendations on disputes concerning instructions, problems arising at site, discrepancies in the drawings or specifications.
Attend and act as liaison for all inspections and meetings carried out by the authorities and report to the project team the outcome of said authority inspections.
Witness, interpret and provide recommendations/responses to testing.
Propose and implement preventive action to avoid defective works and products.
Provide design under design office direction and report actions for defective works.
Report directly with management and ensure that work in progress is accordance with good engineering practice.
Monitor and document project progress, budget, and any changes or variations.
Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
Recognised Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Possess at least 5 years of related experience in Construction Industry.
Registered with BEM (Compulsory) (PE or PEPC is an added advantage)
Registered with CIDB (Compulsory)
Knowledge of construction and material testing procedures.
Willing to work outside normal working hours as needed.
Good technical knowledge, leadership and public relations.
Good organisational, planning, supervisory, co-ordination, interpersonal and communication skills.#J-18808-Ljbffr
