Job Overview: The Accounts Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of the resort, ensuring that all transactions, reporting, and financial activities are accurately maintained and aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities: Finance Representation: Act as the finance department's representative at daily department head Morning briefing, ensuring seamless communication of financial updates and objectives.Report Preparation: Prepare regular reports and summaries of accounting activities to keep management informed.Transaction Verification: Verify recorded transactions and promptly report irregularities to management for corrective action.Night Audit Oversight: Guide the night audit team to ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting.Ledger Review: Conduct daily reviews of guest ledger, city ledger, and deposit ledger details to validate proper payment and revenue posting. Coordinate with the PMS team to resolve any discrepancies identified in the ledgers.Daily Financial Review: Review postings, payments, revenue, and guest balance reports on a daily basis for accuracy.Tax Compliance: Ensure correct taxation and statutory payments are accurately applied in the hotel software system.Billing and Accounts Receivable (A/R): Monitor billing A/R accounts daily and send invoices along with supporting bills and statements to guests. Follow up on outstanding payments to maintain account health.Credit Management: Check customer credit ratings and flag long-outstanding or default accounts as "Blacklisted" when necessary.Cash Flow Forecasting: Forecast cash payments and ensure that cash flows are adequate to enable smooth business operations.Budgeting and Financial Tracking: Collaborate with executives and business heads to prepare budgets and track profit/loss performance by business unit.Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting or similar major.At least 5 years of financial and management experience with the day-to-day financial operations in an up-scale (4/5 Star) hospitality environment.Be proficient in planning, organising and executing financial tasks and the ability to develop strong working relationshipsAn analytical mind and very well organisedGood communication skillsExcellent financial/business decision making.Good time managementShould have a high command of MS Applications like Excel, PowerPoint etc.Strong understanding and good knowledge of resort management software (Opera PMS System).
