Responsible to coordinate the implementation of occupational safety and health in the organization in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and Factory and Machinery Act 1957.Managing the workflow, creating team schedules, delegating tasks, and supervising the coordination of Site Safety Supervisors to ensure the HSE plan is well executed in compliance with legal and Department of Occupational Safety and Health requirements.Prepare, develop, review, and revise the OSH management system such as manuals, procedures, work instructions, and HIRARC documents.Conduct data analysis on accident trends and accident statistics and propose planning and execution for improvement.Liaise with government agencies such as DOSH on matters related to OSH management, particularly field assessments, field audits, and submission of documents to government agencies' online portals (CEM; Certificate of Fitness, etc.
).To aid the safety and health committee to support the effectiveness of the implementation of safety promotion and incident investigation at the workplace.Ensure workplace inspections and audits (internally or externally) are carried out regularly.Perform incident investigations and report on root causes for incidents, ensuring corrective actions are taken by the respective department.Assist the Safety Manager in establishing and running the implementation of Plant Emergency Management, which includes planning for drills and continuous communication with team members.Plan and conduct Safety and Health training for all employees and develop subordinates to improve their level of competency.Develop related Safety & Health training materials for all safety programs and safety promotional media content.Provide mentoring and on-the-job assessment to Safety Department new hires to ensure they understand their roles.Undertake any other job assigned, including working shifts for project support by your superior or management from time to time.Requirements:Minimum certification of bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health.At least 5 years of experience in Occupational Safety & Health.How do your skills match this job?

The company was established by global ferroalloy production leaders to produce and supply manganese alloy products for the steel industry worldwide.An investment costing USD300 million, the Pertama smelting plant occupies an area of 180 hectares in the Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu, Sarawak, as the 1st manganese alloys and ferrosilicon smelting plant in Malaysia.
Construction of the plant started in Q2-2012, and the first tapping of the Ferrosilicon furnace was successfully carried out in Q2 2016, with the next tapping for the Silicon Manganese furnace scheduled in Q3 2016.
The remaining furnaces are to follow at scheduled intervals within the year, with full commercial operation in Q2-2017.
