Safety and Health Officer/ Site Safety SupervisorWe are looking to employ a dedicated and experienced Safety and Health Officer (SHO) / Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) to oversee construction projects and supervise the construction team.
Responsibilities:
Safety and Health Officer (SHO):
Identify project safety risks and prevention and control measures, and cooperate in the preparation of the 'Project Safety Management Plan.'
Familiar with the safety responsibilities of each position and take the lead in conducting assessments.
Carry out project safety education and training work, independently or cooperate with the project safety officer in safety education, and conduct project pre-shift announcements, weekly safety training, and special safety training activities.
Independently carry out daily safety inspections, cooperate with weekly project safety inspections and special safety inspections, identify potential hazards on the project site, and provide targeted rectification suggestions.
Understand the requirements of international and domestic safety excellence standards and lead projects to carry out safety excellence work.
Site Safety Supervisor (SSS):
Conduct daily checks for pre-task toolbox forms and ensure compliance.
Monitor and supervise all high-risk activities such as lifting, working at height, hot work, and working with works train at all times.
Promote the safe conduct of work within the work site.
Rectify any unsafe conditions at the workplace.
Correct any unsafe practices.
Prepare weekly safety site reports and submit them to all relevant parties.
Conduct toolbox meetings, inspect worksite hazards, and prepare risk assessments.
Liaise with JKKP/DOSH and authorized departments (e.g., Bomba, Jabatan Kesihatan, CIDB) to maintain company safety standards and requirements.
Prepare monthly Safety Audit Reports for management.
Communicate, coach, and assist field staff to ensure that all safety expectations are understood and met.
Coordinate regular meetings with the project safety team to review issues, trends, and upcoming conditions or events.
Assist in developing staff, policies, procedures, and organization within the Operations department to ensure smooth operations.
Maintain good housekeeping and implement safe working practices in areas of responsibility.
Requirements:
Safety Health Officer (SHO) must possess a green book issued by DOSH.
At least five (5) years of working experience as a Safety Health Officer (SHO).
Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) must possess a yellow book issued by DOSH.
At least three (3) years of working experience as a Site Safety Supervisor (SSS).
Prefer candidates who can report immediately.
Hold at least one additional safety certificate such as lifting supervisor, scaffold, signalman, or rigger.
Ability to communicate in three languages is a plus.
