The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, building relationships with clients, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art, a strong understanding of the art market, and excellent sales and communication skills to represent the gallery effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Client Relations:
Lead and manage the sales process from initial inquiry to final purchase, ensuring high-quality service at every step.
Build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, collectors, interior designers, and corporate clients.
Conduct private viewings, tours, and events to showcase artworks to potential buyers.
Provide personalized art advisory services to clients, offering guidance on art selection, investment, and collection building.
Supervise and mentor a team of sales associates, ensuring the gallery's sales targets are met and exceeded.
Train and develop the sales team on art knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service excellence.
Gallery Representation:
Represent the gallery at art fairs, auctions, and other art-related events to promote the gallery's collection and attract new clients.
Work closely with the curator and gallery owner to select artworks that align with client preferences and current trends.
Marketing and Strategy:
Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials, campaigns, and online content to attract new clientele.
Analyze sales trends and customer feedback to inform future marketing strategies and inventory selections.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate records of sales, client interactions, and inventory.
Process sales transactions, contracts, and deliveries.
Monitor and report on sales performance and gallery metrics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Fine Arts, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferably in the art industry or luxury goods sector.
Strong knowledge of art history, contemporary art, and the art market.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse clients.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Self-motivated with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
