Job Responsibilities:Be responsible for teaching science to students at the school based on the given teaching schedule.
Plan lessons, present information, promote discussion, assess performance, and modify learning techniques in the study of science for students.
Work closely with the School leadership team in preparing Schemes of Work and regularly monitor the achievements and progress of pupils.
Plan appropriately to meet the needs of all pupils, through differentiation of tasks.
Set clear targets, based on prior attainment, for pupils' learning.
Provide a stimulating classroom environment, where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils.
Keep appropriate and efficient records, formative and summative assessments should be integrated into weekly and term planning.
Maintain good order and discipline amongst all pupils, following the school's behavior policy.
Monitor student performance, and adjust teaching strategies and techniques for improved content delivery.
Establish classroom, laboratory, and field trip rules and ensure all students understand and accept them.
Set up exams, assessments, and experiments by curriculum requirements and standards of the state and district.
Communicate with students and parents through telephone calls and emails about student performance, goal setting, behavior problems, and other issues.
Conduct safety drills or lead guidance sessions when necessary throughout the school year for overall student security outside of science instruction.
Prepare and deliver instructional lessons that facilitate active learning of science.
Create lesson plans, assignments, and assessments to track student progress.
Encourage active participation and monitor individual student performance to enhance their understanding and master skills.
Participate in meetings related to teaching/curriculum; cooperate with and, where appropriate, advise the Head of Schools and other colleagues in the review, preparation, and development of subjects within the school.
Attend meetings and participate as required e.g.
Staff Meetings, Parents' Meetings, and school social events.
Plan for, organize, and direct the work of support staff within the classroom.
Attend relevant courses and be aware of current trends in education.
Prepare assemblies when required.
Regularly report to parents on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils, in line with the Assessment Policy.
Participate in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
Undertake supervisory duties e.g.
break, lunchtime, and team coaching duties.
Participate in the performance management system for the appraisal of their performance.
Adhere to all policies (including Health and Safety and Child Protection) and raise any concerns to the appropriate person.
Undertake any duties or responsibilities deemed reasonable by the Head of Schools, the Principal, or their representatives.
The job description and allocation of particular responsibilities may be amended by agreement from time to time.
Requirements:Possess a Degree in Science or any related discipline.
Teaching experience in an international school or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Strong commitment and passion for education.
Highly motivated, responsible, compassionate, and innovative.
