This supervisory position is in the Corporate Accounting Operations (CAO)'s Center of Excellence (COE) based in Penang, Malaysia.
The COE manages the end-to-end accounting work from journal entry (JE) posting to general ledger (GL) accounts reconciliation, including transfer pricing adjustments.
The senior accountant will:
Review/approve JE prepared by junior accountants and ensure that all JEs are posted in Intel's financial books according to the Financial Close Calendar set by Intel Corporate.
Analyse GL accounts and review financial reports before they are shared with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure that Intel's financial records are based on valid business transactions and are accurate and complete, in accordance with US GAAP.
Be the point person for various financial and operational audits by internal/external auditors, and government/tax authorities.
Ensure that SOX controls are properly documented and executed, and there are no control or reportable deficiencies.
Work with global/business process owners and IT to ensure that the design and implementation of ERP upgrades are on time, including timely completion of end-user testing and/or remedial actions.
Continuously look for opportunities to improve process efficiency and/or effectiveness from an end-to-end accounting/reporting process.
Be the content expert to non-finance or other finance groups to implement enhancement/improvement cross-functional projects.
Applicants with the following knowledge and certification have an added advantage:
Working knowledge of accounting reconciliation tools or equivalent software (e.g., Blackline) and familiarity with the evaluation of software performance, and operational issue resolution.
Certified green or black belt in LEAN Six Sigma (LSS).
Familiarity with Malaysian e-invoicing guidelines and commercially available middle-wares which help companies to comply with Malaysian tax laws and regulations.
Qualifications
Academic Qualification:University degree in accounting, finance or business administration OR member of a recognized professional accountancy body.
Relevant Experience:At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the accounting or finance industry.
Language Competency:Excellent command of the English Language – verbal and written.
Skillset:Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (particularly, Excel and PowerPoint), MS Power BI, and firsthand experience with SAP/Oracle or equivalent.

Able to motivate and guide a team towards achieving a common goal or set of goals (i.e., have effective communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision-making skillsets).
Able to apply LSS concepts and guide others to earn their LSS green or black belt.
