Duties and Responsibilities:Prepares and plans for monthly financial closing process to ensure compliance with approved Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards and to meet reporting timeline set by Group finance which includes preparing a set of profit & loss, balance sheet, detailed profit & loss and balance sheet, and all relevant working as required.
Prepares monthly forex calculation.
Assists in preparing all types of internal and external reporting on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly basis including comparison of actual vs budget.
Conducts study and research on updates on accounting standards or changes to laws or regulations and their impact on financial statements, prepares write-ups and process flows on recognition.
Reviews monthly AP and bank reconciliation.
Submits monthly management accounts including budget vs actual comparison to management.
Assists in liaising with external auditors for half-yearly and yearly audits, including audit timeline, preempting issues to management/group, researching proposed solutions for accounting and auditing issues raised by auditors.
Prepares financial statement relevant notes, including but not limited to relevant detailed workings for auditors.
Highlights any control and process issues to superiors.
Carries out all other duties or works as assigned to you and/or as directed by your superiors.
Requirements:Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, and Professional Certification ACCA/MIA/CPA or equivalent.
At least 3 to 5 years related experience in Financial Reporting preferably in costing/auditing, analysis, etc.
Attention to detail with a keen sense of business acumen and curiosity.
Knowledgeable in the use of MS Office applications, especially Excel, capable of handling large amounts of data and possessing analytical skills.
