KEY TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Mentoring from test lead and senior test analysts.
Self manage own work, in collaboration with Quality Engineers, Delivery Managers and Product Owners.
Reporting on tasks and issues to various levels of the organisation.
Work with Technical Delivery Manager and business analysts to translate requirements into test plans and tasks for other IT team members.
Detailed test planning, design and execution.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Expert "hands-on" technical proficiency in the principles and practical application of automation testing, test frameworks, CI/CD, across a variety of tools.
Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of role autonomy and "can do" attitude.
Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering, Computing Science or Mathematics or another relevant technical field.
2–5 years' experience in a senior automation test role.
7–8 years' experience in Software Development. Experience working on large scale IT applications.
KNOWLEDGE:
Ability to implement solutions according to formal development methodologies, for example Waterfall SDLC and Agile/Scrum.
Experience with Testing Tools such as UiPath, TOSCA, Jira, Selenium.
Knowledge of Life Insurance systems highly regarded.
General IT systems knowledge – software development, networks, office applications.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Evaluate and recommend test automation technology selection and strategy (including framework selection and coding language).
Design and implement automation frameworks, ensuring usability, effectiveness, efficiency and maintainability are met. Frameworks must support backend and UI components, with a particular emphasis on Accessibility.
Set standards for writing test code and automation coding principles to be used across the team.
Support in-Sprint delivery of automated tests meeting acceptance criteria and enable Definition of Done.
Write tests and supporting automation code.
Oversee the continual improvement of automation testing practices.
Manage risks and issues related to the provision of automated tests.
Support the Test Manager to grow the team of automation testers and breadth of coverage.
Strong experience in automation framework development with features like unified Data, Storage & Config management, Hooks, I/O Handlers, Listeners, CD/CI integration and building reporting features using controllers/ Azure SQL/ Microservices to run analytics, produce dashboards and report metrics.
Experience in selection of new tools, techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality.
Collaborate with product teams to strategize & align long term solution for test automation including roadmap, tools, framework & approach.
Experience in providing Quality Assurance (QA) for project & program test deliverables where applicable.
Lead in coordinating the test resources from IT areas to accomplish the test automation objectives at various stages of the software development life cycle, as applicable.
Demonstrate strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring skills to develop and retain team members and contribute to the culture of IT.
Have experience in building high reliability operating culture and performance.
