Senior Consultant - Industrial RelationsAs a Senior Consultant at the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF), you will play a major role in providing expert consultancy and advisory services to MEF members on various aspects of employment-related matters.
Your responsibilities will cover a broad range of tasks in supporting and representing members on industrial relations activities.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive consultancy and advisory assistance to MEF members on diverse employment-related issues.
Represent members during Collective Agreement negotiations with unions.
Attend conciliation proceedings at the Industrial Relations Department on behalf of members.
Represent members in hearings at both the Labour Court and Industrial Court.
Conduct training courses in Industrial Relations and Labour Laws for MEF members.
Facilitate and service monthly regional meetings.
Conduct research and prepare papers on Human Resources/Industrial Relations matters as requested.
Lead and manage key assignments/projects related to labour laws and employment matters.
Participate in member engagement and promotional programs/networking.
Attend meetings and undertake any other duties assigned by the Executive Director or Senior General Manager – Advisory.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Law or a related field
Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial relations or related field, with experience in handling IR cases at the IR/Labour Court being highly advantageous
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Strong negotiation and representation skills
Strong leadership skills to guide, advise and support members
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and be a team player
Strong understanding of the key principles of employment laws
Knowledge of the relevant computer systems and software
Possess strong ethics, morals and sound judgement
Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) is the central organisation of private sector employers in Malaysia recognised nationally, regionally and internationally.
Established in 1959, MEF promotes and safeguards the rights and interests of employers.
MEF provides a forum for consultation and discussion among members on matters of common interest and seeks for the adoption of sound principles and practices of human resource and industrial relations through information, advice, research and information, and other activities.
Malaysian Employers Federation also offers quality and professional training courses in the area of Industrial Relations such as Labour Laws, Discipline and Collective Bargaining, Human Resources Management and Occupational Safety and Health.
