As a team, we enjoy working in a highly flexible and inclusive manner and we hire talents from a diverse variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes us stronger.You'll play an important role in: writing production-grade, peer-reviewed Python and SQL code with automated testsbuilding, evolving, and maintaining the ingestion pipelines to the Orsted Data Ecosystemensuring that data is made available in a way that is optimised for security, stability, and performanceliaising with data owners and stewards to ensure that the metadata description and retention requirements are captured and documented when data is onboardedcontributing to the roadmap of data catalogue development together with architects in .DE and feedback received from end userscommunicating changes of policies and procedures to .DE developers and stakeholders and educating users on our governance and compliance during client and data on-boarding.To succeed in the role, you: have experience as a data engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data pipelininghave substantial development and data ingestion experience using Python and SQL, and experience with processing frameworks like Spark/PySparkare familiar with cloud platforms, containerization, and orchestration tools (we use AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker)experience implementing data mesh principles and building decentralized data pipelines and servicesunderstanding of data governance, data cataloguing, data quality, and data observability concepts is a plus (e.g., AWS Glue and Decube)are curious and engaged with a passion for making a difference through data.Maybe you've read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don't quite match all the points.
