Responsibilities
Lead process design and optimization initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Guide and coordinate designers in technical enquiries from internal/external parties.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including flow diagrams, design development records/database for costing and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Check and verify Boiler Specification Record (BSR) against customer requirements in sales contract.
Perform boiler design tasks, ensuring stress calculation and drawings are performed in accordance with BSR, Boiler or Unfired Pressure Vessel (UPV) design codes (BS1113/BS 2790/ASME Sec.I or Sec.VIII Div.1, etc.)
and statutory regulations (FMA 1967, EQA 2014, etc.).
Review and ensure accuracy of engineering design output from designers or draughtsmen.
Control all design tasks to be carried out within the design schedule.
Conduct site visits to assess and enhance existing boiler designs while assisting in feature improvements and optimizations for boiler applications.
Attend meetings and provide technical expertise and materials (PFD, PID, supporting documents, etc.)
for tenders and proposals.
Liaise with 3rd inspecting party and JKKP for securing Boiler or UPV design approval.
Assist in developing new product designs.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvements.
Mentor and train junior engineers and other staff on best practices and process methodologies.
Stay current with industry trends and technologies to drive innovation.

Experience / Skills Required
Degree in Mechanical/Structural/Chemical Engineering recognized by the Board of Engineers (BEM).
Engineering knowledge in heat transfer, combustion, strength of materials, and fluid mechanics.
Knowledge in engineering drawing and ability to operate CAD software (AutoCAD 2D/SolidWorks 3D).
Accumulated experience in the process of boiler fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
Able to understand clearly and resolve engineering design matters.
Able to cope with market trends, price-conscious, and exceed customers' expectations.
