The Penang Design Center, complimented by Supply Chain functions (Regional Supply Planning, Regional Logistics, Global Procurement, Global Purchasing, Global Sourcing, Order Management and New Product Introduction), Finance Shared Service as well as the Global Regulatory and Reliability Operations Center of Excellence, is the largest integrated operation in Motorola Solutions. We are part of the Products & Services organization. As a fully integrated R&D center, we are responsible for conceptualizing, designing, developing and launching leading-edge mission critical communications solutions and services that enable first responders and public safety agencies to be their best in the moments that matter.Job Description
Work with the product architecture team on defining audio, mechanical and electrical characteristics and specifications for audio systems and their subcomponents (i.e. mics, loudspeakers, DSP, analog parts).
Integrate new audio technologies into products from the prototype phase to mass production.
Manage/review the schematics and layouts of rigid and flexible printed circuit boards.
Diagnose and solve typical audio issues such as noise, distortion, howling or microphonics.
Define, specify and document audio test plans and methodologies.
Author clear and comprehensive audio test plans for work partners to complete electrical and acoustic tests and validation.
Work closely with acoustic, DSP and other audio engineers to ensure the overall system meets its design requirements.
Track and resolve issues through various phases of production and perform failure-mode and root-cause analysis.
Communicate work status with clear articulation of design choices along the way.
Identify design risks and develop mitigation strategies.Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
More than 8 years of experience in audio design for communication electronics.
Experience in audio subsystem design and architecture, system integration, test, debugging and analysis.
Experience with audio & acoustic lab equipment for audio measurement.
Experience working with ODMs and CMs, as well as JDM development.Travel Requirements
