TheEngineer, Database Service (Oracle RAC)is responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of database administration to meet the business needs and service level for ORACLE plus another db flavour MSSQL/MYSQL/POSTGRES/Mongo. He/She should also provide 1st and 2nd level operational database support.
Make an Impact by:
Monitor the tickets (SR, Incident, Change request) acknowledge timely and assist within agreed service level, maintain the database configuration & documentation; provide regular reporting to relevant parties.
Ensure service level meets requirements. Prompt action and propose and implement action plan when required.
Monitor and maintain databases according to standard operations procedures.
Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
Perform performance tuning and resource optimization as required.
Maintain a knowledge base to ensure database intellectual property is retained.
Work on any other DB related requests as and when needed.
Provide operational database support.
Follow security and audit guidelines.
Maintain dataguard and ensure DR is in sync at all times.
Monitor and maintain database backups.
Skills for Success:
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Oracle/MSSQL Professional Certification is an added advantage.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle (Standalone + RAC/Cluster) / PostgreSQL (Standalone + Cluster) / MS SQL (Standalone + Cluster) / MYSQL (Standalone + Cluster).
Extensive experience in managing common Database platforms like Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL & MongoDB including Cluster architecture.
Experience in performing database patching, backup & recovery as well as excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills is a must (including cluster architecture).
Implement Database hardening as per CIS Benchmarks.
EDB Cluster management using EFM.
Implement and manage Audit, Backup & Monitoring of DBs.
