Main responsibilities:
To assist the Design Coordinator of the Design Management & Technical Department in managing overall design and technical matters for approved projects, from the design stage to the tender stage.
Tasks:
Assist in the coordination of overall design management and technical matters for projects from the design stage to the tender stage.
Assist the Design Coordinator in coordinating with lead engineers to ensure that the design works by consultants meet the appropriate standards & regulatory requirements and delivered within the approved schedule & budgetary expectations.
Assist the Design Coordinator in coordinating with lead engineers to review all technical documents submitted by consultants including technical reports, specifications, design drawings, tender documents and other documents related to the projects from the design stage to the tender stage.
Prepare relevant Terms of Reference (TOR) for the appointment of engineering consultants.
Coordinate to provide input to other departments, divisions and companies for the works related to design management and technical matters, if required.
Assist in reviewing and recommending consultants' claims for projects.
Assist in ensuring that all projects are completed as per the approved Master Implementation Programs (MIP) for consultancy up to the tender stage.
Assist in monitoring and reporting the project status such as physical progress, project cash flow, claims/payments, land acquisition and authorities' approval for projects from the design stage to the tender stage.
Assist in coordinating the arrangement of Client Consultant Coordination Meetings (CCCM) and other related meetings for projects from the design stage to the tender stage.
Liaise with the Water Operator on matters related to the projects from the design stage to the tender stage.
Assist in coordinating the preparation of reports and documentation as required for projects under the design stage to the tender stage.
Conduct performance assessments for consultants from the design stage to the tender stage.
Perform other tasks as instructed from time to time by the Management and/or immediate Superior.
Requirements:
Recognized Degree in Engineering (Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical / Construction Management) or its equivalent.
At least 5 years' experience in waterworks or similar nature.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
Proficiency in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia is required.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills are essential.
The candidate should possess good leadership attributes and be energetic.
Being self-motivated, analytical, resourceful and having strong integrity are important qualities.
A good working attitude and willingness to travel are expected.
