Responsibilities:Lead the development of a robust vendor base for Indirect Materials by working closely with stakeholders in the plant.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.
Ensure purchasing activities comply with the company's policies.
Work on cost reduction strategies while maintaining quality standards in line with company annual targets.
Participate in cross-functional teams for project-related purchases.
Work closely with departments like finance, operations, and production to understand their needs and align purchasing strategies accordingly.
Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and ethical purchasing standards and maintain appropriate internal control and risk management safeguards.
Obtain timely price quotations (RFQ) and proposals (RFP) for services required by stakeholders.
Manage the PR and PO process and approvals for Indirect Materials, ensuring all purchases are timely and at the right quantity and price through timely issuance of Purchase Orders.
Negotiate terms and conditions in supply/service agreements to ensure agreements are commercially advantageous to the company while minimizing risk.
Develop and maintain necessary process improvements to achieve work efficiency.
Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular assessments to ensure compliance with agreements.
Report on purchasing metrics, such as cost savings and supplier performance.
Launch tenders to secure the best price and services when necessary.
Perform other tasks or activities as directed.
Job Requirements:Academic Qualifications: Degree in supply chain management, business administration, finance, engineering, or any related field.
Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in the Procurement/Purchasing field.
Key Skills/Knowledge: Strong background in Microsoft Excel with knowledge in Data Analysis and Pivoting; Excellent presentation skills using MS PowerPoint.
Preferred Language: Malay, English, Mandarin (proficient in Mandarin is an advantage).
