ABOUT SDSN The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been operating since 2012 under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General.
SDSN mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement.
We aim to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges confronting the world. SDSN works closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, and civil society.
It is directed by Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs and operates through offices in New York, Paris, and Kuala Lumpur.
POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Fellow works within a team and leads in implementing the economic research programs under the supervision of the VP for Asia & Head of Kuala Lumpur Office.
As a Senior Fellow, you will provide research-based policy advice, and mentor junior colleagues.
Develop and maintain effective relationships and networks with government agencies, NGOs, academicians and external experts.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and coordinate team research on the Middle-Income Trap from a Comparative Perspective.
Lead and coordinate team research on the Economics of Green Transformation, and on Green Finance.
Manage research teams as project leader, providing leadership, support and guidance to colleagues.
Carry out public affairs work and provide expert economic advice and information to relevant stakeholders.
Conduct independent work and publish high-quality research, policy briefs, working papers, and other publications that communicate research findings to diverse audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE PhD in economics or any related field.
Records of high-quality research, especially in modeling and quantitative analysis.
Displaying a substantial record of project management, involving research, advisory work and public affairs.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented multi-cultural environment.
Skills in listening, communication of ideas, problem solving, and decision making.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and familiarity with statistical software.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
