Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger Maintenance:Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
Post journal entries and ensure proper documentation and approvals.Month-End and Year-End Closing:Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure they align with accounting standards and company policies.
Prepare financial reports for management, highlighting variances and trends.
Ensure all financial reports are submitted accurately and on time to senior management.Account Reconciliation and Reporting:Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. (eg, inter-company accounts reconciliations and another monthly schedule)
Prepare and submit the SST filling.Compliance and Audit:Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and relevant regulations.
Support the finance team in identifying areas for process improvements and efficiency.Collaboration and Support:Work closely with other departments (e.g., AP, AR) to ensure the integrity of financial data.
Support in tax and audit matters.Corporate Services:Maintain internal filing or records on contracts and company secretarial matters in an organised manner.
Update group insurance portfolio tracker and filing, and assist the paperwork compilation and liaison with insurance agent in the event of insurance claims.Projects:Assist in research, planning and execution tasks as assigned by the leadership team.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyse data, create reports and perform testing as required for the projects.
Provide project administrative support such as updating project documentation, timelines, deliverables and status.Ad hoc task:Carry out any other work deemed necessary and any ad-hoc assignments as delegated by Superior(s) and Senior Management.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Finance/Accountancy.
Professional finance qualification or part-qualification in accounting or finance such as ACCA, CPA, etc. will be an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years of working experience in financial reporting.
Strong and up-to-date understanding of corporate governance, regulatory compliance and financial management.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Computer literate and knowledge in Microsoft Office tools, and apt in learning new IT tools/ applications. High competency in Excel will be an added advantage for project related assignments.
Responsible, proactive in problem-solving, attention to details and accuracy, independent, effective communication skills and committed to deliver with integrity, and understand the importance of confidentiality.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/ projects simultaneously.
