We are seeking energy professionals to deliver innovative Energy Transition Projects (LNG/Offshore Wind) to our clients. As part of an interconnected team, you will provide engineering and consultancy services in the early engineering project phase. As part of the AFRY team, you will be involved in feasibility studies, conceptual design, technical due diligence, and basic engineering across LNG and Offshore wind projects in Asia.
This position is for a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer with expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and a strong background in marine/naval architecture and offshore structural design. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the marine/offshore industry, having worked with major contractors or consultants, predominantly performing detailed design of marine/offshore facilities.Responsibilities
Perform detailed design and structural analysis of marine/offshore structures using FEA, plus fatigue analysis. The role involves concept and design work through to analysis of new/ existing structures, deriving operating limits, and assessing failures. The FEA experience must cover (but not limited to):
1. Marine and offshore hull structures
2. Marine equipment (Mooring equipment, fairlead, foundation etc.)
3. Local check for complex models (lifting padeye etc)
4. Buckling problems
5. Resonance problems
6. 3D modelling of structures (RHINOCEROS, Solidworks, Designmodeller, and Spaceclaim)
7. Ship collision
8. Pile selection for LNG terminal jetty design
Experience in marine/offshore hull scantling design.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet client specifications.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Participate in project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments.
Ensure all designs and projects comply with industry safety standards and regulations.
Expertise to operate relevant software related to these tasks (ANSYS FEA/SACS/STAAD.Pro)
Strong English writing skills and should be fluent in speaking
Ability to multi-task, manage multiple interfaces and prioritize work
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering/Naval Architecture or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
5-15 years of experience in structural and marine/offshore industries.
Proficient in FEA software and tools.
Strong knowledge of marine/offshore facilities design and construction.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
