Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as day-to-day legal point of contact for business stakeholders to drive continued performance and growth.
Provide legal support for daily legal matters, as well as strategical and tactical projects and initiatives on a broad range of issues including corporate governance, employment, E-business, regulatory compliance.
Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of contracts.
Manage disputes with external lawyers as well as investigations and audits (internal & external) where relevant to the Legal function.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) in Headquarter to manage disputes, compliance, IP matters, etc.
Coordinate the operations and digital establishment matters in APAC Legal team.
Supervise and mentor juniors and oversee their professional development.
Required Education
A Bachelor or Master Degree.
Basic Qualifications
Law degree and license to practice law in Malaysia.
More than 10 years' working experience at a law firm, in-house at a company, or a combination thereof.
Strong analytical, research and communication skills.
Proven ability to handle complex legal issues and provide sound legal advice and judgment even in ambiguous situations.
Proactive with the ability to manage priorities, be organized, methodical, and perform well under high pressure and tight deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications (nice to have)
Working experience at multinational companies or leading law firms.
Proficiency in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
Flexibility to work in an international and fast-paced environment, able to meet tight deadlines.
Legal team management experience.
