Strategic Planning: Responsible and accountable for setting and advancing the academic strategy of the department aligning it with the overall institutional goals and Malaysian qualifications framework (MQF).Develop and sustain appropriate structures for management, consultation, decision-making and communication with academic staff and students.Promote and represent the college both internally and externally.Conduct regular reviews and analyses of academic programs to identify areas for improvement and ensure program relevance.Oversee the development and implementation of new academic programs, adhering to all regulatory requirements set by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).Operational Management:Take responsibility of devolved budgets and comply with college's financial regulations.Manage staff within the academic operations department, including program managers, course coordinators, and administrative personnel.Oversee curriculum development, course scheduling, and faculty workload management.Work with the Registrar in monitoring classroom resources and facilities, ensuring availability and functionality for academic activities.Ensuring the mentor - mentee program is implemented effectively.Ensuring attrition is maintained below the targeted levels."Quality Assurance and Compliance:Implement and maintain a robust quality assurance framework for all academic programs.Ensuring all programmes are in constant compliance with programme standards, COPPA requirements and specific requirements by professional bodiesPut in place the necessary evaluation and monitoring procedures to ensure both compliance and improvement actions are taken.Comply with auditing, quality assurance and risk management procedure both internally and externally.Identify and obtain external certification in teaching and learning.Data Analysis and Reporting:Analyze data related to student performance, program effectiveness, and resource utilization.Prepare reports for college management to inform decision-making on academic matters.Utilize data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in academic operationsCollaboration and Communication:Work hand-in-hand with the Marketing department on marketing promotional activities for students' recruitment and enhancement of the brand, and to provide continuous support to student recruitment department towards achieving a high student enrolment number Foster strong relationships with faculty members, program leaders, and administrative staff to ensure smooth collaboration regarding academic matters.Effectively communicate academic policies, procedures, and updates to all stakeholders, including students, faculty, and staff.
Perform any other ad-hoc assignments as and when required.Required Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least a master's degree with a minimum 5 years of leadership and managerial experience in higher education;
- Able to demonstrate familiarity with MQA, COPPA and MyQuest requirements and specifications;
- Fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (verbal and written);
- A great team player with strong ability to lead a team and possess a good problem solving, management and analytical skills.
- Bachelor's degree in any related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experiences in related field.
- Experience in managing academic team for education setting.
