Job Purpose
To enhance AFFIN corporate reputation in all media and public relations efforts, ensuring consistent, transparent, and impactful communication across all channels.
The role focuses on building meaningful media relationships, crafting strategic narratives, and navigating complex communication landscapes to protect and promote the Bank's brand and mission.
Key Responsibilities
Media Relations
Forge strong, long-term relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets.
Draft sophisticated, engaging press releases that amplify the Bank's achievements and initiatives.
Prepare and distribute high-quality media kits, holding statements, fact sheets, and speeches for AFFIN's Group CEO and Top Management.
Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, proactively pitching stories to secure meaningful media coverage.
Monitor and analyze media coverage, identifying trends and insights related to the Bank, competitors, and industry developments.
Manage all media engagements, ensuring timely delivery of impactful content for print and broadcast platforms.
Stay ahead of industry trends and market updates, leveraging insights to shape communication strategies and identify opportunities for media engagement.
Maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date media contact list and establish regular touchpoints with media professionals through visits and networking.
Organize media conferences, ensuring seamless coordination and timely responses to media inquiries.
Foster strong relationships with media professionals through planned activities and events.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive Media Policy to provide clear guidelines for managing media interactions, ensuring consistent messaging, and addressing potential issues effectively.
Public Relation Strategy
Design and implement PR campaigns that align with the Bank's corporate objectives and values.
Plan the Bank's participation in industry forums, public events, and sponsorship opportunities.
Publications
Oversee the execution of in-house publications, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery within stipulated deadlines.
Public Relations
Plan, coordinate, and execute itineraries and programs related to the company's publicity activities.
Serve as emcee for corporate events as required.
Crisis Communications
Develop and maintain a comprehensive Crisis Communication Plan and Response Templates to manage potential crises effectively.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or corporate communications, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful media PR campaigns and managing media relationships.
Experience in crafting speeches, press releases, and communication materials for senior executives.
Strong understanding of the media landscape, including print, digital, and broadcast platforms.
Hands-on experience with crisis communication planning and execution.
Excellent writing, editing, and public speaking skills.
Skills, Knowledge and Personal Characteristics & Behaviour
Expertise in building and maintaining media networks to ensure positive coverage and influence.
Confident and articulate communicator with experience as an emcee.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Knowledge of social media platforms and digital communication tools to amplify messaging.
Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance standards in banking and financial services.
Awareness of emerging trends in media, technology, and consumer behavior to inform strategies.
