ResponsibilitiesTo support the timely closing of monthly accounts and generation of financial statements/reports/schedules within the target time schedule set by the Management and set under the reporting section's KPI.
To assist in ensuring the financial statements are prepared in accordance with the latest applicable accounting standards, JGAAP, RBC framework and other reporting requirements by BNM.
To support the preparations of all submissions and reports (including the annual audited and interim financial statements) made to the relevant authorities and holding company within the given timeline and in the required formats.
To perform analyses of Company's financial results establishing fluctuations and justifications vis-à-vis historical trends, business plan/budget and industry benchmark.
To perform monthly reconciliations of subsidiary and general ledger and any reconciling item is investigated and dealt with promptly.
To support the monthly preparation of tax computation/schedules for closing ensuring accuracy and reasonableness of tax amount relative to the profit.
To support the preparation of annual tax return and the schedules thereof for submission to the tax authorities before the deadline.
To support the preparation of audit schedules & reconciliations as required by the auditors on a timely basis.
To support in ensuring the accuracy of the claims and premium reports and data submitted to the actuary for purposes of insurance liabilities valuations.
To prepare/review/verify journals raised by the reporting section and ensure all journals are accurate, supported, and authorized.
To assist in the monitoring of monthly/annual compliance with BNM guidelines in respect of low-risk assets holding, management expenses control (including IRE tracking) & other limits and provide timely alert to superior if there is any concern of non-compliance.
To assist in the formulation/establishment/implementation of strategic action plans in enhancing the team's productivity and deliverables and provide suggestions on work improvements.
To assist in coordinating and participating in any Finance related project, including but not limited to, regulatory compliance, enhancement of accounting systems, corporate exercises, implementation of new accounting standards, etc.
To assist in the preparations of management and Board reports.
Ensure documents/schedules/reports under responsibilities are kept safely and properly.
To undertake any other special duties assigned by superior(s).
RequirementsMinimum 5 years of experience in a financial reporting role and minimum 2 years in supervisory capacity.
Professional Qualification recognised by MIA or Degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
Knowledgeable in Financial Services industry especially insurance.
Proficient in MS Office Applications.
Effective communicator in writing, business presentations and in interpersonal communication.
