Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) functions to ensure a positive and productive workplace.
Develop and implement ER and IR policies, procedures, and programs that comply with labor laws and best practices.
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on all ER and IR matters, providing guidance and support.
Proactively manage employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution processes while ensuring fair treatment and adherence to company policies.
Facilitate negotiations with employee representatives and unions, when applicable, to maintain good industrial relations and resolve disputes.
Conduct regular training sessions for management and employees on ER and IR topics, including conflict resolution and labor laws.
Monitor industry trends and labor market developments to identify potential impacts on the organization and develop proactive strategies.
Lead and support organizational change initiatives with a focus on maintaining employee engagement and morale during transitions.
Prepare and deliver reports on ER and IR metrics, trends, and issues to senior management.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree/ Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field; relevant certifications are advantageous.
At least 8-10 years of experience in Employee Relations and Industrial Relations, with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of labor laws, employee rights, and industrial relations practices.
Demonstrated experience in managing complex ER and IR issues, disputes, and negotiations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
